Evaluations
3. Speech Evaluations
We provide both speech-language evaluations and social-communication evaluations. A speech-language evaluation primarily focuses on assessing an individual's speech, language, and communication skills. It includes the evaluation of aspects such as articulation, motor-speech, vocabulary, grammar, fluency, and comprehension. The goal is to identify any difficulties or delays in speech and language development and to determine appropriate therapy interventions. A social communication evaluation assesses receptive and expressive language, and takes an intensive look at the individual’s ability to interact socially and use language in social contexts effectively. It aims to identify challenges related to social communication, which may be indicative of conditions such as autism spectrum disorder or other social communication disorders.
The evaluation typically takes 2 ½ to 3 ½ hours. Records review, a 60-minute school observation OR a 60-minute interpretive conference, and generation of a comprehensive written report are included in the fee. Generation of IEP goals and objectives and/or attendance at an IEP meeting are both available upon request for additional fees.
