Therapy

1. Speech-Language Therapy

Therapy at MMTA aims to enhance the aspects of an individual’s communication that will make them stronger learners and communicators.  This might include vocabulary, grammar, articulation, motor speech, fluency, social engagement, play, or social cognition skills.  We determine objectives through a structured process involving record reviews, interviews, and diagnostic therapy (the initial 6-8 weeks of therapy during which time we probe and assess areas of strength and need). Treatment methods vary, with young clients benefitting from a circuit of adult-directed skill practice, child-directed play, and semi-structured activities. Older clients will participate in skill practice tailored to their interests.

Therapy sessions are typically 30, 45, or 60 minutes (although some participate in longer sessions) and are usually scheduled weekly, sometimes more than once a week, depending on skills to be addressed. Objectives are reviewed quarterly to track progress and to ensure alignment with personal goals. Our approach ensures purposeful, effective therapy sessions geared toward meaningful outcomes.

We provide therapy to clients in our office and/or virtually.
